Steve Wheatcroft, IU men's golfer from 1998-2001, earned his 2010 PGA Tour Card with a tie for 3rd at the Nationwide Tour Championship on Sunday.
Wheatcroft started the tournament in 31st place on the 2009 Nationwide Tour Money list and needed a strong week to get in the top 25 on the money list, which is the cut off for earning a 2010 PGA Tour Card.
The two time All Big Ten Selection, Wheatcroft's third place finish was his highest finish of the year and put him 18th on the final money list for the 2009 season.
Wheatcroft is now fully exempt on the PGA Tour for the 2010 season.
