Check out my predictions for the Sweet 16 games these next two days.
East Region:
No. 1 seed Ohio State vs. No. 4 UK- Ohio State is just too dominant for this young Wildcat team to come out with the "W". The Buckeyes have beaten their first two opponents by 29 points or more. OSU 78- UK 69
No. 2 UNC vs. No. 11 Marquette- UNC has been strong as of recent due to their fast break ability and leadership of PG Kendall Marshall. Also, the Big man ability of Harrison Barnes and Tyler Zeller will be too much to handle for the Golden Eagles. UNC 72- Marq 66
West Region:
No. 1 Duke vs. No. 5 Arizona- This game will be much closer then people think because of PF Derrick Williams and his presence in the paint. Kyrie Irving back in the lineup for Duke will give the Blue Devils a slight advantage. Duke 74- Ariz 69
No. 2 San Diego State vs. No. 3 UConn- Before the tourney started, this was the Sweet 16 match-up I had in my bracket. I'm going to stick to that prediction and pick the Huskies because Kemba Walker will take over in the final minutes. UConn 64- SDSU 61
Southwest Region:
No. 1 Kansas vs. No. 12 Richmond- The Spiders will get stomped on Friday by the mighty Jayhawks and the Morris brothers. They had a good run, but they aren't going to be the Cinderella team making it past this round. KU 76- Rich 61
No. 10 Florida State vs. No. 11 VCU- Both teams defeated top teams last round each by 14 points or more. This game will be close for most of the game. Don't be suprised if this one goes to overtime. But, I see the Rams just pulling it out. VCU 78- FSU 74
Southeast Region:
No 4 Wisconsin vs. No. 8 Butler- Both teams are very similar in the players that they contain. Good Point Guards (Shelvin Mack (BU) and Jordan Taylor (UW)) and versatile big men in (Matt Howard (BU) and John Leuer (UW)). I'm thinking another Buzzer beater. Butler 62- UW 61
No. 2 Florida vs. No. 3 BYU- The Jimmer train isn't stopping here and might not end until Houston. BYU has a good supporting cast, even without Brandon Davies. BYU 68- UF 60
