The Hoosier women's soccer team played its' final regular season game at home Tuesday night against its' rival No. 23 Purdue (11-5-3, 4-3-2 Big Ten). IU dropped its' second consecutive home game 2-1 in heartbreaking fashion in the final seconds of the second overtime.

Junior midfielder Chloe McKay put the Hoosiers on the board first. In the 45th minute, sophomore forward Carly Samp received a pass around the left side of the 18 yard box and beat a Purdue defender. She then passed it to the middle of the box to McKay, who was waiting to kick it into the back of the net. It was McKay's second goal of the year and Samp's fifth assist in 2009.

Purdue would fire back two minutes later with a shot by Jessica Stellhorn that got past IU goalkeeper Lauren Hollandsworth to tie the game at one a piece.

The two teams would continue to trade opportunities during the second half, but neither team would put the game away.

In the final minute of the second overtime, with 21 seconds remaining, Stellhorn was awarded a free kick after an IU penalty. She sent the kick curving into the box, where Sylvia Forbes got her head on it and found the back of the net for the game-winner.

Hollandsworth finished the game with nine saves, which marks the most of any IU goalkeeper this year.

Overall, Purdue led the time of total possession in the game, and that was made apparent by their 20-12 advantage in total shots. The Boilermakers also came out very physical, and committed 15 fouls overall.

For the Hoosiers, they now drop to 10-6-2, and 2-5-2 Big Ten. They have one remaining regular season game, a Friday match-up at Minnesota at 7 p.m.
