On Monday, coaches were permitted to check out recruits in AAU action for the first time since last summer. The first major event is the third annual adidas It Takes 5ive Classic in Cincinnati, which began this morning and will run through Wednesday.

I spent all afternoon at the University of Cincinnati's Fifth Third Arena and Campus Recreation Center. I watched David Williams and the Atlanta "J-Smoove" Celtics at noon, Indiana Elite/Team Indiana (Jeremiah Davis, Dee Davis, Austin Etherington, Vinny Zollo, etc.) at 2:40 and Indiana Elite One (Matt Carlino, Cody Zeller, Spencer Turner, Marshall Plumlee, etc.) at 4:00.

Among the coaches I saw in attendance were: Tom Crean and assistants Bennie Seltzer and Tim Buckley (IU), John Calipari (Kentucky), Roy Williams (UNC), Billy Donovan and assistant Richard Pitino (Florida), Bob Huggins (West Virginia), Sean Miller (Arizona), Tubby Smith (Minnesota), Josh Pastner (Memphis), Mick Cronin (Cincinnati), Frank Lickliter (Iowa), Kansas assistant Danny Manning, Thad Matta (Ohio State), Dane Fife (IPFW), Mike Brey (Notre Dame) and countless others. Tom Izzo (Michigan State) and Rick Pitino (Louisville) were among the others that were said to have been there today.

I will add photos tomorrow, but for now you will get just the text (see above posts).
