Though Maurice Creek and Bawa Muniru both play for prep schools, four of the other six 2009 recruits entered their final high school seasons with hopes of a state title run. Christian Watford's Shades Valley High School (Ala.) is already out, losing in the third round/Class 6A Northeast Regional finals to Vestavia Hills, 53-50.

Jordan Hulls, Derek Elston and Bobby Capobianco, will each play their opening sectional games this week. Both Hulls and Elston play on top-ranked Indiana teams, as Bloomington South is No. 1 in Class 4A, while Elston's Tipton is the top team in 2A.

On Tuesday, Capobianco and the Loveland Tigers head down to the University of Cincinnati's Fifth Third Arena for a 7:30 p.m. tip. Loveland, seeded fifth, will face No. 22 Winton Woods, a team they have beaten twice this year.

On Wednesday, Elston and the Tipton Blue Devils plays No. 7 Oak Hill in a first round Sectional 40 contest.

On Friday, Bloomington South plays the winner of Bloomington North and Columbus East at 7:30 p.m. in Columbus.
