Bloomington South, the No. 1 team in Indiana's 4A class, advanced to regionals with two wins last week. In the most recent victory against East Central, IU-bound point guard Jordan Hulls was held to just four points. On Saturday, the 22-0 Panthers will face 23-0 New Albany, who is led by junior Donnie Hale. Hale was on campus for a home game several weeks ago.

IU recruit Derek Elston, meanwhile helped push Tipton---No. 1 in Class 2A---past two tough opponents last week, and into regionals as well. Up next for Tipton is 19-4 Bishop Luers, a tough team out of Fort Wayne. Elston will go toe-to-toe with five-star junior forward DeShaun Thomas, who is verbally committed to Ohio State in 2010.

Bobby Capobianco and the Loveland Tigers (Ohio) were not as fortunate as South and Tipton, falling in their sectional finals game with Aiken, 65-52. Aiken is led by Cincinnati's top underclassman, Chane Behanan, a Bearcats commit for 2011 who is ranked No. 23 in the class by ESPN.com.

Out in Arizona, Highland High School fell in the AIA 5A Div. 1 state finals to St. Mary's. Highland was led by IU recruit and standout sophomore Matt Carlino, who scored 20 points in the loss. Leading the way for St. Mary's was former IU target Demetrius Walker, a 6-4 wing who is signed with Arizona State for next year.
