IU recruit Jordan Hulls has made a strong case for Indiana Mr. Basketball, an annual award given to the Hoosier State's top senior basketball player. The guard is averaging around 16 points, five assists and four rebounds this season for Bloomington South, the nation's third-ranked high school team.

While Mr. Basketball will not be announced for another two weeks, Gatorade has recognized Hulls' efforts, naming him the 2008-09 Indiana high school player of the year. Last year's recipient was Tyler Zeller, now at North Carolina, while past winners include Shawn Kemp (87-88), Damon Bailey (88-89, 89-90), Glenn Robinson (90-91), Jason Gardiner (97-98, 98-99), Jared Jeffries (99-00), Sean May (01-02), Greg Oden (04-05, 05-06) and Eric Gordon (06-07).

Hulls and South (25-0) will play Fort Wayne Snider (25-1) this Saturday in the Class 4A state title game.

That's 'G.'
