On Thursday former IU coach Kathi Bennett returned to Assembly Hall for the first time since she was the head coach of the Hoosiers from 2001-2005. Bennett lead the team to the only Big Ten Tournament Title in the history of the program during the 2001-2002 season.

One of the star players from that team, Heather Cassady was also in attendance at Assembly Hall. Both Bennett and Cassady shared some thoughts on IU.

On coming back to Bloomington

Excited to be back for the first time since she left her coaching position here. Has done some recruiting for Wisconsin in Indianapolis, but not back to Bloomington.

On what she said after she left coaching

Worked as a sales representative for Nike and had a lot of contact with college coaches.

On why she decided to return to coaching

She loves the game of basketball and has a lot of passion for it. "Basketball is who i am."

On what she remember most from the Big Ten Tournament Championship team

Just the players and how special they were to be around. She was reunited with Heather Cassady who was part of that team and game from Saint Louis to see Bennett and watch the Hoosiers.

On the recent success of the Hoosiers

Said she gives a lot of credit to Coach Jack. The players she has play hard and play together well.

On recruiting current Hoosiers Whitney Thomas and Kim Roberson

Great players, but better people. "I wish i had the chance to coach them now." Added that the only time she would not want them to do well was the game against Wisconsin.
