Yesterday the media was in attendance to see the IU women's basketball team go at it on the hardwood. Coach Jack was her usual inspired and yelling self, motivating her players to go hard all the way. Many times while it seamed like she may have been going over the top a thought crossed my mind. She is just doing this because she expects a lot out of her team and believes they can achieve a lot this year. She wants them to keep their edge and not get complacent. On Thursday the Hoosiers will continue their conference schedule by taking on Minnesota on the road, before heading to Penn State for a Sunday contest with the Nittany Lions.

Here are some quotes from practice

Coach Jack on getting votes in the AP poll

"We will be humble in our spirits, but gracious in our response. We are excited about where we are, but certainly not satisfied."

On the difference in mentality from last year

"We would take it more personally. Coach Jack is attacking me, not the player. I think it's a lot to do with our seniors being more mature."

On playing Indiana Basketball

"We just don't worry about who we are going up against. We just play Indiana Basketball, a shot goes out we go to the block out, and whoever is behind us has to deal with our heart. Our heart is as big as you are. I just think that rebounding is all about heart."
