This comes from Zachary Osterman over at the IDS' IU baseball blog, the Inside Pitch.
In a move that should surprise few, Andrew Means has declared for the 2009 NFL Draft. Means, a redshirt junior and former IU center fielder, now in the Cincinnati Reds' organization, came back to IU for one more year of football.
There were many last spring who said quietly Means could have a professional future in football to go along with the obvious one in baseball, and it appears he will test those waters between now and April.
Means has a three-year contract with the Reds, but it won't prevent him from playing professional football to my knowledge should the opportunity arise.
Zach and I will keep pursuing this story for y'all and let you know if there is anything more to add.
