Here's a neat-o picture of Ray Fisher scoring. I sat down with No. 7 Ray today and had a quick Q&A posted below.
Question: Thoughts on some of the offensive troubles of late? Fisher: Really wouldn't say they are troubles. We just had a couple of misunderstandings, but I think in practice we can get everything handled.
Q: What are some of those misunderstandings? Fisher: With routes and not getting enough depth. It's really the little things and as long as you are teaching techniques I think you can get over that.
Q: How are you going about fixing those little things? Fisher: Just going out and knowing our responsibilities and just doing everything the coaches are telling you to do. Basically just watch film
Q: Did the offense put the defense in a tough spot against Minnesota? Fisher: Our defense is playing great ball so we just have to stop shooting ourselves in the foot and stop making mistakes. But I think our defense has enough trust in us and will go out and play hard week in and week out and it's going to end up paying off
Q: Has the team stopped believing in the possibility of a bowl game? Fisher: We are still not selling ourselves short. We have a lot more football to play and we are just going to go out and play hard. We are going to make it to a bowl.
Q: Looking forward to Iowa, what are you expecting? Fisher: They have a real tough defense, I remember from my the past couple of years I've been here. They thrive on momentum. They stop the run so I think we can do some things with our passing game to open up the run.
Fisher said the offense was going to use out-routes to exploit the Hawkeye defense he said was weak in the flats.
I'll hopefully bring y'all some more stuff from IU coach Bill Lynch's presser tomorrow afternoon. Stay tuned.
