We've had conflicting reports on when IU will hire its next athletic director. Some sources have told us a new athletic director will be announced next week; others are hesitant to put a timetable on it.
Larry McIntyre, IU's director of media relations, said this afternoon that the search for the University's next athletic director "appears to be very close."
With IU President Michael McRobbie leaving for China on Oct. 31, it seems an announcement this week would be timely, if not likely.
