So, here's a rundown of how I talked to DeShaun Thomas.
Before tip-off of the IU-Illinois game, I walked down from media seating to where DeShaun Thomas was sitting. I introduced myself and identified myself as a reporter for the Indiana Daily Student.
I first asked him if he was here on a recruiting visit. He responded with "Yeah." I then asked "So, does this mean you are opening up your recruitment." To which he responded, "Yeah."
I then asked him what he was looking forward to most about the visit and he said he was excited to see how the crowd would react, and already he was impressed with IU.
I later came back to talk to him at halftime, where I was abruptly interrupted by a man who told me DeShaun would not be answering any questions about recruiting. And apparently he told another reporter he had no comment.
Not sure what else is being said in DeShaun's camp, but that's the word from the kid himself.
