Aussie big man Ben Allen will no longer play basketball for the Hoosiers.
We've been trying to dig up this story for the past day, but, alas, our efforts have been futile. IU Director of Athletics Media Relations J.D. Campbell sent out this e-mail at 12:44 regarding Ben Allen's status. Here is the official release from media relations:
Indiana University men's basketball coach Kelvin Sampson has announced that junior center Ben Allen (Melbourne, Australia) has left the program and will transfer.
"We appreciate Ben's efforts at Indiana and we wish him nothing but the best in the future," said Sampson.
Allen played in 24 games last season and averaged 0.8 points and 1.5 rebounds. As a freshman, he played in all 31 games and averaged 3.2 points and 1.7 rebounds.
