Indiana is 9-3 overall and has appeared in the national rankings for four consecutive weeks.
Four other Big Ten teams are also ranked. Maryland moved up one spot to No. 1, improving to 12-0 after defeating Michigan 5-2 on the road Oct. 9. Northwestern — the previous No. 1 team — dropped to No. 2 after falling to Princeton University 2-1 in overtime Oct. 11. Iowa remained at No. 6, while Michigan moved up one spot to No. 18 despite its loss to Maryland.
Indiana will host No. 2 Northwestern at 3 p.m. Friday at Deborah Tobias Field in Bloomington. The Hoosiers will then host Penn State at 3 p.m. Oct. 23, before facing No. 1 Maryland at noon Oct. 25. The Maryland matchup will be Indiana's second-to-last game of the regular season.
