The City of Bloomington will begin its annual fall leaf collection on Monday, October 19. Collection will continue through December 30 on residents’ regular A and B week yard waste schedules.
Residents should place leaves at the curb in brown paper yard waste bags, trash cans with handles, or City-issued green-lid yard waste carts. Green-lid yard waste carts are available for purchase from the Sanitation Department for $70.
To assist crews in collecting leaves, residents should:
- Leave brown paper bags untaped. Plastic tape is not biodegradable.
- Keep dirt out of bags and containers.
- Keep each bag or container under the 40-pound weight limit.
- Place yard waste separately from trash and recycling carts so crews can easily access each item.
