Indiana men’s soccer ranked 22nd in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll, climbing three spots since the final poll of the 2025 season, in which they ranked 25th.
The Hoosiers enter the 2026 season with a fresh look, as 13 new faces join the historic program, including junior forward Stephane Njike, a Maryland transfer who was second in goals, assists and points for the Terrapins in 2025.
Indiana began last season ranked No. 11 and was awarded the No. 6 national seed ahead of the 2025 tournament but was unable to advance past the second round after a 1-0 loss to Saint Louis University sent the eight-time champion home early.
The preseason poll also featured No. 1 Washington and No. 7 Maryland, two Big Ten foes Indiana will face on the 2026 campaign. Indiana hosts Washington on Sept. 18 and Maryland on Oct. 2.
Indiana will begin the 2026 season with a home match against Notre Dame at 8 p.m. Aug. 20 at Bill Armstrong Stadium.
“If we want to win championships,” head coach Todd Yeagley said at a press conference Tuesday. “You got to be able to get a realistic picture of what your team is all about and those types of games prepare you.”
