Indiana football secured two 2027 four-star recruits Wednesday, as defensive lineman Reinaldo Perez and running back Da’Jon Talley-Rhodes committed to the program, per Rivals’ Hayes Fawcett. The Hoosiers now have 11 commits in their 2027 class.

Perez is rated as the No. 32 defensive lineman and the 12th-ranked player in Ohio, per Rivals. The 6-foot-6, 260-pound Perez was in Bloomington for an official visit April 17. He selected Indiana over Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State and Virginia Tech. Perez took an official visit to Michigan State last weekend and was scheduled to visit Ohio State later this month, per Rivals.

The defensive lineman projects as an edge rusher at Indiana. He is the Hoosiers’ second 2027 addition to their defensive line, joining four-star edge rusher Myles Smith

Talley-Rhodes is ranked as the No. 35 running back and No. 1 player in Washington, D.C., per Rivals. The 6-foot, 213-pound Talley-Rhodes received 21 total collegiate offers, per 247Sports. However, the running back elected the Hoosiers following his Bloomington visit May 29. He chose Indiana over Boston College and Penn State.

As a junior at St. John’s College High School in Washington, D.C., Talley-Rhodes was named the 2025 Washington Catholic Athletic Conference Capital Football Offensive Player of the Year. The running back also earned First Team All-WCAC honors.

Indiana found success in the run game in each of head coach Curt Cignetti’s first two years at the helm. The Hoosiers eclipsed 160 rushing yards per game in both seasons. Talley-Rhodes is Indiana’s first running back addition of the 2027 cycle, as Cignetti begins to build the Hoosiers’ future backfield.
