Indiana men’s basketball secured its second portal commit in Duke University transfer guard Darren Harris, he announced Monday on Instagram.

The 6-foot-5 sophomore was a four-star prospect out of high school, according to ESPN and 247Sports. Harris spent two seasons with the Blue Devils, where he averaged 8.3 minutes per game across both years.

In the 2025-26 season, Harris appeared in 36 games and averaged 3.3 points per contest. The Herndon, Virginia, native had a career high five 3-pointers in Duke’s victory over Army West Point on Nov. 11.

Through his freshman season in 2024-25, Harris averaged two points per contest and appeared in 21 total games.

Harris is the second player to commit to the Hoosiers via the transfer portal, joining former Georgia Institute of Technology guard Jaeden Mustaf.

Indiana finished this year with an 18-14 overall record and missed the NCAA Tournament for the third consecutive season. The Hoosiers are only returning one rotational player from that roster in freshman forward Trent Sisley, as six seniors and five transfers are set to depart.

Head coach Darian DeVries is also bringing in three freshmen in guards Prince-Alexander Moody and Vaughn Karvala and forward Trevor Manhertz. All three are ranked in the top 80 nationally, according to 247Sports.
