The speed limit on State Road 45/46 between East 10th Street and North Kinser Pike will drop from 45 mph to 40 mph on or after Thursday, depending on weather. Other sections of the road are unaffected.
The Indiana Department of Transportation, in a news release Tuesday, said the reduction is intended to improve safety.
If the signage change is delayed due to weather, INDOT Southeast will post an update on its Facebook.
According to the City of Bloomington’s traffic crash data, there were more than 30 crashes involving serious injuries between 2019 and 2024 in or near the impacted section of State Road 45/46.
Toppers Pizza, located at 212 S. Indiana Ave., permanently closed after almost three years of business, according to the store’s Facebook.
