Ahead of Indiana football’s College Football Playoff semifinal matchup against Oregon, the Hoosiers continued their transfer portal surge, adding their 12th commit Thursday.

Former Iowa State University long snapper Drew Clausen announced his commitment to Indiana on his X account Thursday. Clausen has one season of eligibility remaining.

The 6-foot-6, 260-pound Clausen began his collegiate career at the University of Northern Iowa, where he spent three seasons. Clausen redshirted his freshman season in 2021 and did not see the field in 2022. But in 2023, Clausen appeared in all 11 games for the Panthers.

After transferring to Iowa State, Clausen played in all 14 games for the Cyclones in 2024 and served as their long snapper and short snapper in 12 of those games. In 2025, the Grimes, Iowa, native started as long snapper and short snapper in all 12 games, and was a part of the Cyclones’ special teams unit that allowed zero blocked punts and kicks.

The Hoosiers are set to lose starting long snapper Mark Langston at season’s end, paving the way for Clausen to earn the starting spot in 2026.
