Indiana football head coach Curt Cignetti retained all 10 on-field assistants from the Hoosiers’ run to their first-ever national championship.

However, strength and conditioning coach Derek Owings departed Tuesday for the same role at the University of Tennessee. Now, defensive quality control coach Cam Haney is also leaving Bloomington for a position at the University of Tulsa, according to a release Thursday.

Haney will serve as the cornerbacks coach for Tulsa under second-year head coach Tre Lamb. The Golden Hurricane went 4-8 in their first campaign under Lamb, as former Indiana tight end Brody Foley led the team in receiving.

"I'm excited to add Cam to our staff and to see the impact he will have on our secondary," Lamb said in the release. "Cam brings a strong background in developing defensive backs and has a proven ability to teach technique, discipline, and confidence at the position. I'm looking forward to watching him go to work and help elevate our defense."

Haney helped coach the Hoosiers’ defensive backs unit that totaled 19 interceptions and 50 pass break-ups throughout the season. The Los Angeles native previously spent three seasons at Murray State University from 2021-23 and one at East Tennessee State University in 2024.

Haney previously played collegiately as a cornerback for Utah State University from 2016-19.
