A travel advisory is in effect for Monroe County as of 9:26 p.m. Thursday.

Road conditions will get worse overnight as snow is expected to continue, according to Monroe County Emergency Management. Travelers are advised to prepare for slick road conditions and drive with caution.

Snow is expected to continue through the early morning hours Friday, with the most accumulation occurring between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. Temperatures will remain in the upper 20s overnight.

The National Weather Service previously issued a winter weather advisory for the region, with expected snowfall between 2-5 inches or more.

According to Monroe County Emergency Management, areas along and northeast of Interstate 74 are expected to receive 2 inches or less of snow.

Snowy weather is expected to resume throughout Saturday, with forecast extreme cold air and subzero temperatures.
