The following is a press release written by Julia Spangler for Indivisible South Central Indiana.
Bloomington immigration attorney Christie Popp will address community members at the November 23 general meeting of Indivisible South Central Indiana (ISCI). Popp will discuss the history of immigration enforcement in Monroe County and immigration implications of the 2026 Sheriff’s election.
Popp will share details about Indiana State Attorney General Todd Rokita’s lawsuit against Monroe County Sheriff Ruben Marté and its significance for Bloomington and Monroe County immigrants. Attendees will learn the local background, history, and current issues regarding immigration and how they can proactively help defend immigrants in our community.
