The woman who died at the Monroe County Jail on Friday likely died of natural causes, Bloomington Police Department Captain Ryan Pedigo said in an email.

Kimberley Eve Martin, 64, was arrested Oct. 17 in Seminary Park on several active arrest warrants. BPD officers transported her to the Monroe County Jail, where she complained of being hot before becoming unresponsive. Officers attempted CPR and administered Narcan, which reverses the effects of an opioid overdose, but she was pronounced dead at the scene.

The final autopsy report is not yet available, but “the pathologist advised investigators that the cause of death appears to be of natural causes,” Pedigo wrote. Once the Monroe County Coroner's Office receives toxicology results, the coroner will make an official determination of cause of death.

Martin was homeless, according to The Herald-Times. She was arrested on warrants for failing to appear for hearings on two charges of criminal trespass and one charge of public nudity, Pedigo said in an email.
