Summer has been busy and delivered blessings for New Leaf New Life. Recently, NLNL was honored to be chosen as recipient for the Bloomington Downtown Outreach grant, which will fund the creation of a part-time position to administer the Read to Me program. The Read to Me program, coordinated in partnership with the Monroe County Public Library, allows incarcerated parents to record themselves reading to their children. The children are provided with books and recordings so that they can read along with their parent, and hear their parent’s voice, and maintain a connection to their loved one who cannot be with them at this time.
