Indiana baseball postpones game versus Ball State

For the second time in two weeks, rain has impacted an Indiana baseball (22-18, 7-5 Big Ten) game versus Ball State (25-15, 12-9 MAC). Originally scheduled for 6 p.m. Tuesday at Victory Field in Indianapolis, the Hoosiers and Cardinals will now play at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Scheumann Stadium in Muncie, Indiana, per release.

Sophomore righty Ethan Phillips will get the start for Indiana.

Indiana is coming off a series win at Minnesota on April 20-21, its third consecutive conference series win. The Hoosiers swept the 2023 season series against Ball State, winning two slugfests. The Hoosiers defeated the Cardinals 16-13 in Bloomington on April 11, 2023, and 9-8 in Muncie on April 25, 2023.

Indiana cannot afford many more losses to low-RPI teams like Ball State, which sits 127th. The Hoosiers are currently on the bubble of an at-large NCAA Tournament bid, ranked 77th after winning two out of three games in Minnesota.
