From March 26-31, Oliver batted .550 and knocked three homers and seven RBIs while extending his hitting streak to 11 games. The award marks Indiana’s first since now-sophomore Tyler Cerny won it April 24 last year.
In 18 games played this season — and 13 starts — Oliver boasts a .388 batting average and 1.153 OPS. Oliver’s reliable glove, which head coach Jeff Mercer has lauded throughout the season, has made him a regular in the lineup over junior Brandon Burckel, who began the year as the starting second baseman.
