Russian Recording to celebrate 20th anniversary with fundraiser event Sunday

Local recording studio Russian Recording will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a family-friendly fundraising event Sunday from 12:30-10 p.m. at the studio located at 1021 S Walnut St. There will be two stages with live musical performances.  

Tickets are available for children 13 and younger for $15, and for adults 14 and older for $35.  

All net proceeds from admission costs, beverage, raffle and activity sales will go towards Girls Rock Bloomington, Indiana Recover Alliance and Lil BUB’s Big FUND for Special Needs Pets.  

The Studio Stage in the empty lot on the north side of the studio will feature electric rock and roll bands Murder By Death, Deerhoof, Heaven Honey and Brenda’s Friend. The Switchyard Stage will host acoustic musicians Rodeola, Salaam and Busman’s Holiday with Erin Tobey.

Raffle tickets are included in the price of admission, and additional ones can be purchased as well. Raffle winners will be announced Tuesday. Some of the prizes include services from Ruby’s Hair Company, photography services from Anna Powell Denton Photography, studio time at Russian Recording and local artists’ creations.  

Tattoo artists Colin McClain and Giacomo Del Rio from local tattoo shop Time and Tide Tattoo will be offering previously designed tattoos of microphones, logos and cats. Designs can be viewed and appointments for the flash tattoo event can be made online.  

Multiple local restaurants will sell food and drinks. Orbit Room will bring event-themed hot dogs, Pili’s Party Taco Truck will serve Mexican street food and Upland Brewery will offer draught beers.
