Bloomington under hazardous weather outlook until end of night Tuesday

A hazardous weather outlook is in effect in Bloomington until the end of Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

According to the NWS, areas in central Indiana are expected to experience scattered thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon through the night. Some thunderstorms may produce severe hail and strong wind gusts.

According to the City of Bloomington, there are no current road closures due to the storms as of 4:48 p.m. Tuesday.

Some parts of campus and Bloomington may experience flooding, including Campus River.

Thunderstorms will move northeast throughout the state at around 20 to 25 miles per hour, according to the NWS. Scattered strong to severe storms are possible Wednesday through Thursday.

The NWS recommends those outdoors consider seeking shelter inside a building.
