A trio of Hoosiers were named to the 2023 College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Team Tuesday for their efforts on the diamond and in the classroom.
Redshirt junior Cora Bassett alongside sophomores Heather Johnson and Brianna Copeland were the three Hoosiers that were awarded.
Bassett eclipsed the century mark this season in games played, runs scored and hits in her career with the Cream and Crimson. The Newburgh, Indiana native is pursuing a Management and Human Organization degree.
Copeland, a two-way player, is majoring in Architecture and leads the team with a 21-3 individual record in the circle, a 3.86 earned run average and 15 doubles at the plate.
Johnson is working towards a degree in Exercise Science at the School of Public Health. Johnson has 15 wins, four saves, and a 3.46 ERA in 42 appearances, with half being starts.
As All-District honorees, Bassett, Copeland and Johnson advance to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. Voting remains open for CSC members until May 23. The three All-America teams will be announced on June 6.
