Anthony Walker celebrates after a 6-0 Miami run in the first half March 19, 2023, at MVP Arena in Albany, New York. Walker transferred to Indiana on Saturday.

Former University of Miami forward Anthony Walker committed to Indiana men’s basketball Saturday, becoming the third portal addition for the Hoosiers this season.

Walker, a 6-foot-9, 215 pound forward who enters his fifth season next year, averaged 2.8 points and 1.2 rebounds with the Hurricanes last year in 37 games, including one start.

His best season came as a sophomore in 2020-21, when he averaged 9.6 points and 4.7 rebounds over 26 games and 16 starts.

Walker saw 13 minutes of action against Indiana in the school’s NCAA Tournament matchup this year, scoring 4 points and grabbing two rebounds. He scored 7 points against Houston in Miami’s Sweet 16 victory but played just 10 scoreless minutes in its next two games combined.

Walker is the third post player to join Indiana this offseason, following Kel’el Ware and Payton Sparks. Walker’s announcement followed news from earlier Saturday that junior forward Jordan Geronimo is transferring to Maryland.
