Closing out the month: local performances this week

Welcome back! Here is all the information you need for Bloomington’s music scene from March 28 - April 2: 

18+ activities 

Local artist Damion — alongside Toronto band His His — will hit the stage at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the Orbit Room. Tickets are $8 and table reservations are an additional $15 for four people. 

Dirty indie pop groups Scrounger, Heavy Mother and Full Sun are set to play at 8 p.m. on Friday at Ducks in a Stack. Cover is presumed to be $5-10. More information can be found online

Local indie darlings Violet Hour and Middle Name Basis will play an electric show at 7 p.m. on Friday at the Orbit Room. Tickets are $6. 

Indianapolis hardcore bands Chickadee and MBHW will team up with local hardcore ensembles Boy Girl Blue and Fear the Fishmen for a stacked set at 8 p.m. on Friday at The Orion. Cover for the bands is $5-10 at the door.

Iconic punk band Zero Boys with Fear the Fishmen and BMV will play a nostalgic set at 8 p.m. on Saturday at The Reef. Cover for this wild event is only $9. 

21+ activities 

Local band Eddy Gonzo & The Gardeners will play at 10 p.m. on Wednesday at The Bluebird. Tickets for the show are just $5. Drinks are only $1 on Wednesdays, a fun tradition at The Bluebird. 

Local indie bands The Matriarch, Class Action and Current Entertainment are set to hit the stage at 9 p.m. on Thursday at The Bishop. Entry is $6 at the door. As usual for The Bishop, proof of COVID vaccination is required to enter. 

Street Pennies returns at 10 p.m. on Thursday at The Bluebird. Tickets for their electric performance are $10.

Chiba Dowa, Yellow Rain and Midnight Butcher will perform at 8 p.m. on Friday at Blockhouse Bar. Tickets are $5 at the door. 

Country buff Hank Ruff returns to his home turf at 9 p.m. on Friday at The Bluebird. Tickets are just $10. 

Eleganza and duo Ryan Payton & Matt Lundquist are set to perform at 8 p.m. on Saturday at the Orbit Room. Tickets are $11 with additional table reservations available for $20. 

Happy April Fool’s! The Bluebird will host a Shrek Rave at 9 p.m. on Saturday. Tickets range from $20-25. 

Future forecast: budget for big bands 

100 gecs will be going on tour, stopping in Chicago at 7 p.m. on April 20 at Byline Bank Aragon Ballroom. Tickets are $55 for the standing room- only venue.
