4 rapes, 1 sexual battery reported this week

The IU Police Department received multiple reports of sexual assault from April 26 to April 28 and a sexual battery.

Campus residence hall report from Tuesday

IUPD received a report of sexual assault from the Office of Sexual Violence Prevention and Victim Advocacy on Tuesday, according to an email from IUPD.

A student reported they were sexually assaulted in a campus residence hall over the weekend of April 22 but did not give an exact date or which residence hall.

The student does know the suspect, but IUPD does not know the suspect. 

The case is now inactive pending further information.

Campus report from Tuesday

IUPD received a report of sexual battery from the Office of Student Conduct on Tuesday, according to an email from IUPD.

It was reported somewhere on campus a male grabbed a female inappropriately.

IUPD does not currently know the victim’s identity but does know the identity of the suspect.

The case is currently inactive pending further information.

Briscoe Quadrangle report from Wednesday

IUPD received a report of sexual assault from the Office of Student Conduct on Wednesday, according to an email from IUPD.

A student had reported that they were sexually assaulted at Briscoe Quadrangleon Nov. 5, 2021. The victim does know the suspect, and the suspect is known to IUPD.

Pending further information, the case will be inactive at this time.

Off-campus report from Wednesday

IUPD received a report of sexual assault from the Office of Student Conduct on Wednesday, according to an email from IUPD.

The report was submitted anonymously to the Office of Student Conduct, and it included information about an unnamed student who informed another student they had been sexually assaulted at off-campus April 20th. 

IUPD does currently know the identity of the suspect.

The case will be inactive, pending further information.

Hershey Hall in Ashton Center report from Thursday

A rape reportedly occurred on Oct. 16, 2019, at Ashton Hershey, according to the IU crime log.

The rape was reported on Thursday, and the case is currently listed as open.
