IU baseball’s Friday doubleheader with Penn State was postponed after head coach Jeff Mercer tested positive for COVID-19, according to an IU press release.
Mercer tested positive through an antigen test Friday morning, and his result was then confirmed with a PCR test, the release said.
He said in the release he’s experiencing minor symptoms.
“I look forward to communicating with the team during my absence and rejoining the team when it’s safe to do so,” Mercer said.
The rest of the team and coaching staff will undergo further testing. The remainder of the team’s schedule this weekend will be determined later.
