Kilroy's on Kirkwood has sold out of tickets for its reopening Saturday during IU's football game against No. 8 Penn State. This comes as Indiana has reached all-time highs in coronavirus cases.

After originally planning to re-open Saturday, Kilroy's on Kirkwood will temporarily close again, according to a notification and letter sent to those with table reservations.

"Unfortunately, due to external circumstances we are going to have to change our course of action and postpone our re-opening," a letter from Kilroy's stated. "As we navigate the changing climate we are going to keep you updated so that we can get back to what we love as soon as possible."

A Kilroy's on Kirkwood employee confirmed the letter was sent to all staff as well, but could not disclose what the "external circumstance" was.

The letter said full refunds will be issued to those who reserved a table.

Kilroy's had tables out on its front porch as recently as Friday afternoon. However, those tables were pulled back inside as of Friday evening.

After spending eight months closed during the COVID-19 pandemic, Kilroy's had announced Wednesday it would re-open this Saturday coinciding with IU football's first game of the season.

It is unclear when a future opening date will be.
