Dunkin’ will open its only Bloomington store on the corner of Third Street and South College Mall Road, permits issued by Monroe County confirm, before the end of 2020.

"A new Dunkin' location in Bloomington, IN is currently under construction, with a tentative opening slated before the end of the year," Kelly Vaugh, a field marketing manager for Dunkin', said in a statement to the Indiana Daily Student.

The "D" logo was spotted on the door handles of the new location by Twitter user Jenni Miller Wednesday morning.

An exact opening date is unclear.

The permit was approved June 15. It can take anywhere from eight to 15 months between the company approving a new store location and when it opens, according to information provided to potential franchisees.

The former tenant, Steak 'n Shake, closed this location and one on the north side of Bloomington last May.

Update 7:30 p.m., Oct. 7: This story was updated to include a statement from Dunkin'.

Clarification: A previous version of this story said this would be Bloomington's first store. While this would be the only Dunkin' in Bloomington, a Dunkin' location used to exist downtown.
