IU announced Tuesday it will be moving to a tiered parking system based on employee salary. Currently, permits are priced by type. The changes start this summer.
Under the new system, there will be four categories based on salary, according to an IU press release. These changes will affect the EM-Standard and EM-Premium permits.
Permits such as the EM-V and Reserved options won’t be affected by this change, according to the press release. Permit renewal costs will be determined off of the employee’s salaries at the time of renewal, meaning prices can change from fiscal year to fiscal year.
