A Bloomington man called police Friday night after finding a stranger asleep on the stairs in his home.
Officers said when they arrived, the door to the apartment was open and 40-year-old Lewis Rhett was laying on the stairs.
He told officers he was just looking for a place to sleep.
Police said Rhett was apparently drunk, reportedly smelling like alcohol and slurring his speech.
He was arrested on the preliminary felony charge of residential entry.
