Two suspects from August attempted murder turn themselves in

Two people turned themselves in Thursday in relation to an Aug. 23 shooting at Jackson Heights Apartments.

Everett Williams, 39, and Heather Delbridge, 30, both declined to speak with police after arriving at the station. Williams faces the preliminary charge of attempted murder, and Delbridge is accused of assisting a criminal.

Delbridge was driving the car when Williams allegedly opened fire on a 45-year-old man he knew outside the apartment complex. The man who was shot suffered injuries to his legs and filed a police report from the hospital.

The men had a fight over money the night before, according to Bloomington Police Department.

BPD Lt. John Kovach said Williams apparently owed the victim up to $4,000 for marijuana.

The man told police he only knew Williams by his street name, “Scrappy Doo.”

Police connected “Scrappy Doo” to Williams and issued a warrant for his arrest in August.
