Hinkle’s Hamburgers vandalized

Management at Hinkle’s Hamburgers called police Tuesday to report someone cutting their phone wires and stealing a picnic table.

When police arrived at the local burger joint, they noticed it looked like someone tried to pry the box that was supposed to hold the wiring off the outside wall.

The wires, which the restaurant said were AT&T phone lines, were apparently cut sometime overnight.

Management also reported the security light on the west side of the building had been unplugged, which they told police isn’t uncommon.

Officers said while they were talking the vandalism report, Hinkle’s employees also mentioned a picnic table had been stolen from outside the business sometime between Sept. 22 and 25.

They later located the table in a nearby homeless camp and brought it back to the restaurant on South Adams Street.
