After netting the game-winner against then-ranked No. 3 North Carolina, sophomore midfielder A.J. Palazzolo was named the Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week on Tuesday afternoon.
In the 87th minute, senior midfielder Trevor Swartz sent a free kick to the far-right post, and Palazzolo headed in the goal from four yards out.
It was his first career goal after suffering a season-ending knee injury in 2017.
This weekend, the No. 6 Hoosiers will host the Adidas/IU Credit Union Classic at Bill Armstrong Stadium. IU will face No. 22 Dartmouth at 8 p.m. Friday and No. 18 Connecticut at 8 p.m. Sunday.
