The IU Student Association Election Commission announced the Voice IUSA ticket the unofficial winner of the 2018 elections Wednesday night.
Final vote tallies have not been released in the three-ticket election, which saw the Reform IUSA ticket come in second place and the Unite IU ticket in third.
"This was a smooth election, and we look forward to the work that Voice will do next year once they take office," said senior Savannah Wormley, IUSA election commissioner, in a release from the commission. "We believe that these results reflect our efforts to facilitate a fair and equal election."
Last year, four of the five tickets who ran last year were either penalized through vote deductions or disqualification, but it is so far unclear whether any complaints will be filed this year. The procedural election code was revised this past school year to amend some complaint procedures.
