Fire on Washington Street, woman arrested

Taffany L. Ducharme, 45, was arrested early Wednesday morning on preliminary charges of criminal mischief and disorderly conduct after setting her sleeping bag on fire near the intersection of Fourth and Washington streets, Lt. Brad Seifers said.

Officers began to put the fire out when they ?arrived.

The Bloomington Fire Department firefighters finished extinguishing the fire when they arrived at the scene, Lt. Seifers said. Ducharme was alone at the scene.

She was not injured, and she was transported to Monroe County Jail.

A glass door near the fire sustained a crack due to the heat, according to the police report.
