Shane Wynn named to award watch list

IU vs Minnesota Football

IU senior wide receiver Shane Wynn has been named to the Paul Hornung Award watch list, the Louisville Sports Commission announced Monday.

The award is given annually to the most versatile player in college football. Wynn is the first player in IU history with receiving, punt return, kick return and rushing scores in his career.

Wynn has compiled 1,610 total yards off kick returns, which ranks third in IU history. He is also tied for fifth with 17 receiving touchdowns and tied for eighth in catches with 133.

In a season that placed Wynn among the best receivers in the Big Ten, he helped the IU offense to a record-breaking year in 2013 where the Hoosiers had 6,102 total yards and 38.4 points per game.

Wynn has 20 career touchdowns and 1,490 total yards, receiving and rushing combined.

Wynn is one of 47 in consideration for the award. The Paul Hornung Award Selection Committee will vote for the recipient in late November, with the winner being announced in early December.
