Olympian Jones to compete at IU

IU track and field announced Thursday afternoon that Olympian and two-time World Champion Lolo Jones will compete at the Billy Hayes Track at 7 p.m. May 2 as part of the American Track League series.

IU track and field alumni Derek Drouin, Molly Beckwith and Andy Bayer will also take part in the meet. Drouin won a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London in the high jump. Bayer is an 11-time All-American and NCAA Champion, while Beckwith is the 2010 NCAA runner-up in the 800 meter run.

Admission to the event is free and there will be a 40-yard dash that is open to the public.

The top non-elite qualifier will get to run in the 100-meter dash against Olympians for a chance to win a cash prize of up to $1,000.
