Energy company offers holiday lighting calculator

Duke Energy is offering its customers a holiday lighting calculator to help them save energy and money.

“Holiday displays are fun for families and communities, but can also add significantly to monthly power bills,” said Gayle Lanier, Duke Energy senior vice president and chief customer officer, in a press release. “Fortunately, there are a number of efficient, budget-friendly lighting options available to help control costs during the holiday season.”

Customers can use their lighting calculator to find out how much their holiday lighting will cost. The calculator can be found at duke-energy.com/lightscalculator.

Duke also lists cooking reminders that can help customers save, such as preheating ovens only when needed and opening oven doors as little as possible while cooking.
