Freshman Abigail Bott died as a result of an accidental overdose and was not alcohol-related, Monroe County Coroner Nicole Meyer confirmed Thursday.
Foul play is not suspected in the 18-year-old’s death, which occurred the morning of Oct. 6. She was found dead in her dorm room at McNutt Quad at about 2:30 p.m. that day.
An autopsy was conducted the following morning but was inconclusive, and her cause of death was unknown until the toxicology results were released Thursday.
The Monroe County Coroner’s Office has completed the investigation of Bott’s death, and no further information was released.
Bott was from Clarendon Hills, Ill., and planned to pursue a degree in exercise science and personal fitness in the hopes of becoming a chiropractor, her friend and freshman Daniela Anthony said.
