Rape reported in Ashton residence hall

An adult female student was reportedly raped in the Ashton residence hall between 12:30 and 1 a.m. Saturday.

She said she knew the suspect but felt intimidated by the sexual encounter, IU Police Department Lt. Craig Munroe said.

The student reported the rape Wednesday, but IUPD could not confirm whether charges will be pursued.
