Historian Peter Linebaugh coming to Boxcar Books

Radical historian Peter Linebaugh will be at Boxcar Books at 7 p.m. Friday to present his latest book, “Stop, Thief! The Commons, Enclosures, and Resistance.”

In the book of essays, Linebaugh focuses on the history of communism and the major events that played a role in its history.

Linebaugh’s essays trace communism back to its origins in 1381 and references influential figures like Karl Marx, Thomas Paine and William Morris.

In addition to “Stop, Thief!” Linebaugh has written for the New Left Review and New York University Law Review and Social History.

Linebaugh has a Ph.D. in British history from the University of Warwick.

Though he has taught across the country, Linebaugh currently teaches in the history department at the University of Toledo in Ohio.
